I'm a couple weeks behind on the list but I saw two items I might be 
able to help with.

Mark mentioned that he is going to do a thesis project on software to
do roll arranging.  I have found this and earlier discussions on this
subject interesting and have even worked with a friend to design and
start construction of a automatic music media-independent scanner.  One
thing Mark mentioned was that a central focus of his thesis would be
the user interface of the program.  Mark, if you need someone to help
with advice etc., I am a User Interface Technologist and Designer.
Have been at Xerox in Human Interface Design for over 25 years.  Let me
know if I can provide some advice or encouragement.
