Introduction and The Condon Collection
By Keith Nealy

Dear Jody Kravitz,

I visited Terry Smythe's home page, and he mentioned you maintain a
mailing list for those interested in automatic instruments. I became
interested after hearing performances by Rachmaninof and Debussy
playing their own works on reproducing pianos. I'd like to be added to
your mailing list, and also ask for your help.

I have a CD of Debussy on the Bellaphon Records (Germany) label which
says that the original rolls came from the collection of Denis Condon
who has over 8000 of them. It was licensed by The Dolphin Music Group
out of Sydney Australia. Do you or anyone on your mailing list know of
a catalog of what is available from the Condon Collection? Have you
heard of them, or do you do you know how to contact them? The CD is of
no help.

I'm interested in CD's of composers playing or conducting their own
compositions. If you or your mailing list members can give me any
leads, I'd be most grateful.

Thanks you.

Best wishes, Keith Nealy
