I appreciated the responses to my organ facade question. I think
the answer is that plywood is the most stable, easiest material for the
facade base, but it's best to make the carvings removeable should some
future restorer wish to change something. Perhaps screws through the
back and animal glue would help.

    Here's another question: Must rotary pumps turn in one particular
direction? I have a piano (Popper) in which the pump is marked with an
arrow pointing counter-clockwise. The motor I'm using turns it
clockwise. The pump is not connected to anything else (ie; roll
transmission, etc.) and seems OK turning backwards.
