Good Online Roll Source
By Jim Canavan

While Web surfing the other day, I came across the Playtime Music
Company's home page:

       http://www.Kreation.com/Playtime/.

A nice selection of new rolls, including some Ampico, Welte and
Duo-Arts. The prices are VERY reasonable...$6.50 for regular rolls,
$9.00 for longer ones, and $10.50 for expression ones...and no shipping
charges!

In my never-ending search for Gilbert & Sullivan rolls, I was pleased
to see that they had a Duo-Art recut of HMS Pinafore. I ordered online,
and a week and a half later, it arrived at my door. In no time, I had
taped over the end notes on my tracker bar, and was merrily pumping
away at a GREAT roll!

I guess all their rolls are Play-Rite ones (there was a Play-Rite
catalog in the box, and although Playtime's in Florida, the box shipped
from Play-Rite in California). They've got quite a few songs that QRS
doesn't have; I intend on ordering some more soon!!!

The only problem I've had is that their Web site is rather slow...when
I try to access the alphabetical roll list, it often just pulls a
"time-out"...of course this could also be due to AOL's lousy Web
Browser and Internet access!

Don't know if Playtime is old news to the rest of you folks, but wanted
to pass on the info...

[ Editor's Note: I have a pretty fast link to the net and
[ I found that the lookups were pretty slow, and the transfer
[ performance after the lookup was done to be erratic. In
[ this case I would bet the site is overloaded. The results
[ are interesting enough to make this an interesting surf site,
[ though. I've no idea how good their product is. Anyone else
 [ know ?
