Pat Mularky mentioned his reservations with bilon. I agree. But don't
judge polyurethane coated nylon that way. Bilon had to be compromised,
in order to coat both sides. It was scratching off that way almost
twenty years ago, too.  On the other hand, polyurethane coated nylon
will outlast rubber coated cotton and silk at least three to one. I
personally know of a coin operated machine in Colorado Springs which
had over 100,000 plays and which was taken down and retested. While
rubber coated cotton will not last over 50,000, this covering was still
perfectly airtight. Draw your own conclusions.

The way to use the material is to glue with hot animal hide glue, and
to stick the sealant side in toward the wood. In testing this bond, the
sealant comes off the cloth and sticks down to the wood edges.
