Introduction
By Howard Kohlbrenner

Hello to everyone. My name is Howard Kohlbrenner, I have been a
member of both MBSI and Amica for about 22 years. I Just recently read
of this form in the MBSI Bulletin. My interests in mechanical music
started when I was 9 or 10 years old. I saw and heard for the first
time aplayer piano. I was also always intrigued by the band organs on
the carrousels in my Phila. Pa. area. It was about 15 years later that
I was able to purchase a player piano for myself and rebuild it. Then
on to a Wurlitzer IX piano and a Berry orchestrion. A couple of years
later the band organ interest hit. I rebuilt a 50 key Bruder barrel
organ to play 150 Wurlitzer rolls and most recently I aquired a very
original Artizan XA2 organ still playing Artizan 46 key rolls. I am
always looking for additional 46 key rolls for this organ. I also own a
restored Ampico "A" upright. With this project winding down I am making
plans to built up an 89 key organ using the G4 or VB scale. Any ideas
along this lint are solicited.

I am also trying to put together a project to transpose 48 key BAB
rolls to 150 Wurlitzer scale.

Hope to see some of you in Chicago later this month.
