Motor Rewinding
By Craig Brougher

I have had probably several dozen player motors rewound over the
years, and discovered that an electrician who really knows his stuff
can double the power of an original old motor. I had this done in a
large concert grand motor that has to run its pump at twice the speed
of a baby grand pump. After an hour of continuous operation, the motor
was just normally warm to the touch. I was very impressed. Then my
electrician retired, and everybody else I know around here says it
can't be done. We can, of course, increase the new wire diameter to the
same overall diameter as the silk covered wire, but that isn't what
this guy actually did. He took it a step further, I believe. So if
anybody knows the trick he might have pulled, why not share it with us
here? 'Twould be greatly appreciated.
