Most Seeburg KT's were quartered sawed oak cases with the American
Eagle glass and single stike xylophone. My own was serial number
161238 which placed it approximately 1923. Only very few KT's had
pipes (flute or violin) and the dancing girls art glass. Fewer still
had mahogany cases as this wood was associated with very exclusive and
high-class establishments. (Like the high-end brothels) I would
imagine less than 6 instruments survive of this description, but all
Seeburgs to my knowledge accept 20 nickels. Actually, I am surprised
that it didn't have a quarter or half-dollar slot (factory equipped)
as this must have been a special order KT. The serial number would
probably date it from before WWI; instruments with pipes became more
and more costly to produce after the war, hence the majority of models
with xylophone. A real rarity!
