Re: Value of Regina Music Box
By Marty Roenigk

Responding to Kenneth Keeton on the Regina music box.

I hope you are talking about a 15 1/2" disc Regina and not a 12 1/4"
because the value is quite a bit different. We do sell coin-operated 15
1/2" Regina's in the $4500 price range from time to time, but usually
that is with a matching base cabinet, and is certainly for a double
comb model. There is so much to be careful about with music boxes that
you have to be careful. For instance a single comb model is worth
considerably less than a double comb model. A short bedplate model is
worth considerably more than a long bedplate model.

Coin-operated models of Reginas, especially in the 15 1/2" size and
larger, are quite common. I would say about 30+% of all the ones we get
are coin-operated. You need to be careful about these because the coin
operated ones tended to have more wear due to their often having been
out on commercial locations and gotten a lot of wear.

I concur with the comment on the Reproduco. The last one we sold we
were lucky to get close to $9,000 however that had been restored and
some very nice original Seeburg art glass had been added to it. We
would normally feel luckly to get $5-6,000 for a good Reproduco or any
other type of mortuary organ.

Sincerely,

Marty Roenigk
