Re: Roll Frames
By Matthew Caulfield

In the last digest Thomas Logan asked about sources for Wurlitzer
roll frames. George Cooper (Wichita, KS?), ex-husband of Jill
Cooper, Wichita (the woman who made Wurlitzer unit blocks up
until recently) makes roll frames, or he did last I knew. I
think they were around $500, depending on size. I suggest a call
to Player Piano Company, asking to speak to Durrell Armstrong,
himself. He ought to know about sources.

Steve Lanick, in Pittsburgh, used to make very excellent and
authentic replicas of Wurlitzer roll frames, until OSHA regs and
other problems made it hard to find somone to cast the necessary
parts.

Regarding the paint scheme for your facade, I am not clear what
you are looking for, pictures of original factory-paint facades
(of which there are few)?
