Orchestrion in Atlantic City?
By Jim Canavan

Hi all!

Next week I'm making my annual pilgrimage to soak up sun on the beach
at Ocean City, NJ. Recently, I've heard rumors that one of the casinos
in nearby Atlantic City has some type of orchestrion in it. I'm not a
big fan of casinos, but if there's a nice *working* automatic musical
instrument to be seen & played, I'll put up with the hordes of
blue-haired gambling ladies and go there! Can anyone give me details
(name of casino, what type of instrument, whether the machine is
coin-operated & working, etc.)?

One of the highlights of my yearly beach trip is listening to the band
organ on one of Ocean City's two boardwalk carousels. I *think* it's a
Wurlizter...this year I'll snap some photos and see if I can match it
with one in Bower's book, and report back.

Again, thanks for any help!
