MBSI Convention Trips, Roll Values
By Matthew Caulfield

Nothing that follows is of much value but that won't stop me ...

I agree with Bob Conant's assessment on the piano rolls listed by Mr.
Tuttle. But every one of those marches listed are VERY fine examples
of the march category. I'd buy them just to have them. BTW, it's
"Boston Commandery" rather than "Boston Commentary", and has woven into
it, as the trio, the melody of "Onward Christian Soldiers."

I hate all of you who will be going to Chicago! What a cornucopia of
treats, not the least of which for me is the city itself. But to visit
Jasper Sanfilippo's, the House On The Rock, etc. too. Wonderful.

Jasper has not only gathered a world-class collection of instruments
(too bad you won't see his Wurlitzer 180, which is being restored in
Carlisle, Pa.) but has assembled world-class artistic restorers to work
on his Eden Palais Salon Carousel--Will Morton VIII, Rosa Ragan, and
others. Anyone able to do so should continue north from Spring Green
(House On The Rock) to Baraboo to visit Circus World Museum. Get
archivist Fred Dahlinger to show you the museum's three band organs,
including a Wurlitzer 165 and the Gavioli from Royal American Shows.
Fred and MBSI's Tim Trager know more about band organs than most of the
rest of us together.

Again I hate you all! Enjoy the convention!
