Advertising
By Jim Heyworth

Regarding the question of advertising in the MMD, it would sadden me to see
it banned entirely since good leads may be missed.

Nevertheless I am totally opposed to blatant (and repeated) commercialism or
long lists of things for sale. That sort of thing belongs in MBSI, AMICA
and similar publications where the societies involved can use the proceeds
from sale of the listings to support their activities.

For example, if someone has an interesting musical item that he/she found on
a newsgroup or wishes to off-load from a private collection, I have no
problem with it being mentioned on MMD once only.

My 2-cents' worth.
