This note is in response to John McClelland's note of a few days ago
regarding Welte-Mignon test rolls.

John, thanks for filling us in on the existence of another T-98 (Green)
test roll.  The roll you described is new to me.  I would like to take
you up on your offer to loan it and your other two test rolls for
scanning.

Is there any way of finding out when the Licensee test rolls you have
were made?  I cannot find them listed in Charles Davis Smith's book,
and I have not seen them in any catalog of the period.  The issue date
is important, because the timing adjustments are very different in the
two test rolls.  It appears that the timing was changed at some date,
and that date should correlate with the issue date of the later test
roll.
