Paper Roll Perforators
By Todd Augsburger

In reading the rather lengthy discussion on Paper Roll Perforators, in
which all but a few have, like me, wonderful ideas but no solid
achievements, I ask the following:

Has anyone considered, or tried, actually cutting, instead of punching,
the rolls? I am thinking of something akin to the vinyl cutters used by
my local print shop. They are capable of cutting various thicknesses,
even of such things as a thin wood veneer, under computer control.
Wouldn't they be useable/adaptable to paper rolls? They wouldn't be
extremely fast, and only one layer at a time, but would make uniform
cuts with good repeatability. Comments? I can drop by the printers and
ask better questions if anyone is interested.
