Paper Roll Perforators - MIDI Converter Device
By John Wale

Bob Essex made a recent posting about requiring a simple MIDI to
parallel converter for a roll punching machine.

I have recently finished building such a converter, which has 32
outputs, each capable of driving 35 Volts and 0.5 Amps. Any output can
be configured to operate from any MIDI note number and the MIDI channel
number for reception can be set by the user. The unit has screw
terminals for the outputs and many units can be chained together to
build up a system.

The cost of such a system is reasonably low, and if I can be permitted
to advertise here, I think that if there was a general demand for such
a unit, I could produce them for about 42 UK pounds each.

I would be interested to know if anyone else would have a use for such
a unit.

John Wale.

Note to Editor : I do not wish to cause offense if it is considered
that an advertisement is out of place in the MMD, and accept your
decision if this message is not posted.

 [ Editor's Note:
 [
[ Occasional postings of this type are OK, and I've received
[ overwhelming support from the readership about this. I will,
[ of course, also publish reasonable "review articles" from
[ people who like or don't like a "product", whether that
[ product was advertised here or not.
 [
[ I don't know the exchange rate, but 42 UK pounds sounds like
[ its in the right ballpark. I think you should send us more
[ information about your project, and let us know more
 [ technical information about it.
