Mechanical Musical Instruments Museum in Paris
By Doug Dexheimer

Can you advise the name and location of the Museum of Mechanical Musical
Instruments in or near Paris, France? I saw the credits for the music
background at the end of a video travelogue featuring the canal system
of Europe. If this museum still exists it would be worth the time
of a visit.

I happened upon a similar museum on the west side of London, England,
earlier this year. I believe it is in the area called Brentsford, about
1/2-mile west of the Kew Bridge Steam Museum near Kew Bridge, just a
stone's throw north of the Thames River.

They have many music boxes, pump organs, hurdy gurdy, player pianos, and
even player pipe organs. Their Wurlitzer theatre pipe organ is up and
running under control of a music roll player wired into the original organ
wiring. This museum is open for tours & demonstrations on Sunday
afternoons.
