Re: Mechanical Musical Instruments Museum in Paris
By Philippe Rouillé

There is, alas, no more Mechanical Music Museum in Paris. It was closed
and sold to foreign collectors 2 years ago. There are several interesting
MM instruments in public collections in Paris, but the corresponding
museums are now closed for renovation. So, for the moment, you have to
go several hundred miles away from Paris to see mechanical Music (in
Les Gets, in Savoie near Geneva, for example, or in the new museum in
Mirecourt, Lorraine).

For a complete listing of MM museums in France (and in Europe too), you
may have a look at my Web pages (which are mentioned in the Mechanical
Music Digest web page as "Philippe Rouille's site"):

    http://www.cnam.fr/museum/musica-mecanica/musica-index.html

This address will change within a few days, "musica-mecanica" being
replaced by "musica_mecanica". (Such are the arcanes of the Internet).

You may always go to this server through the server of the CNAM museum and
then click on Musica Mecanica :

    http://www.cnam.fr/museum/

If any problem, please e-mail to me.
