Bjorn Isebaert, in Digest 961217, informed us about a Christmas CD
from Het Nationaal Museum van Speelkok tot Pierement at Utrecht, the
Netherlands (The National Museum from Musical Clock to Street Organ).

I sent a fax to the museum to get more information (nr. +31 30 232
22 85).  Mrs. Mirjam Blott (Head of the presentation) answered:

> We made as our own production the following CD's:

> "Musical Memories" -- (musical boxes, orchestrions, 'draaiorgels'
>     (street-, fairground-, dance-organs), etc.);
> "The Cuckoo and the Nightingale" -- (drawing-room organs);
> "Festival of strings" -- (orchestrions, pianola's (=player pianos),
>     reproducing grand pianos, etc.);
> "Christmas Bells" -- (X-mas music on a variety of instruments
>     from the museum collection).

(To my surprise all the titles are originally in English ! -- Wybe)

> These titles can be ordered directly from the museum in writing with
> enclosed NLG 30.00 in Netherlands currency per CD. (Selling-price is
> NLG 24.50 plus forwarding-charges).  The name and address (also the
> country !) of the sender should be clearly indicated.

Mrs. Blott did not react on my suggestion to pay by credit card or
international (Post Office) money order.  NLG 30 can best be sent in
three notes of NLG 10; we have notes of NLG 10, 25, 50, 100 and 1000;
one Netherlands Guilder (NLG 1) is about USD 0.58.

Not mentioned by Mrs. Blott, but mentioned in their last bulletin:

"Twee kermisorgels/Two fairground organs" -- In collaboration of the
   museum and the KDV (Friends of the 'draaiorgels') a CD of the
  "Dubbele Ruth" and the recently restored "WBS" (Wilhelm Bruder
   Soehne). (Label Clarison, playing time 64.14 minutes). Same price.

I found in my CD-rack the "Musical Memories" (10/89) and "Festival of
strings" CD's.  Both have a booklet in Dutch and English.  Normally I
read both texts, because they are more than sole translations.  It
would take too much space here to mention the names of the pieces and
instruments I suppose (26 resp. 32 pieces).  Feel free to e-mail me
