Plea for Leonid Kreutzer Rolls
By Wayne Stahnke

Leonid Kreutzer recorded for the Welte-Mignon (Licensee) Corporation
in New York, and Duo-Art in London, in the late 1920s. He made eight
(8) Welte-Mignon rolls, and four (4) Duo-Art rolls, in all.

I am attempting to locate all of Kreutzer's rolls. The Welte-Mignon
rolls will of course be found here in the United States, since they
were sold here. The Duo-Art rolls, however, were apparently sold only
in Britain, and are not available in this country.

I need to be in contact with one or more owners of large collections
of Duo-Art rolls in Britain to locate these important rolls. Can anyone
on the Digest put me in touch with the appropriate owners, preferably
by e-mail? Your help would be appreciated, and you would be doing a
service to preserving and furthering Kreutzer's art.

 [ Editors note:
 [
[ The monumental book on the Welte Mignon by Charles Davis Smith says
[ that Kreutzer toured with Duo-Art artist Ossip Gabrilowitsch, with
[ one conducting the orchestra while the other played the piano, and
[ then alternating! Kreutzer settled in Berlin in 1908, and in 1921
[ became professor of pianoforte at the Hochschule fuer Musik, Berlin.
 [
[ Perhaps our European members can add more information about this
 [ talented musician from Berlin.
