My Band Organ Has a Vacuum Leak!
By Gordon Forcier

Hi, Well with the weather up here in the frozen midwest, I knew that it
was bound to happen. Even with my Wurlitzer 146A band organ in a heated
building it just doesn't make any difference, the darn organ is loosing
vacuum pressure. Oh the organ plays, but the bells stay on all the time,
and when a lot of notes play, boom, the reservoir just hits bottom, thus
no vacuum.

I tightened up all the screws on the valves and the valve chest, I
checked the lock and cancel units and valves, somehow this organ just
doesn't fee; like playing. Don't say it's to dry in the building, there
is plenty of moisture and humidity in there. I thought that the tracker
bar might have been loose but it is on real tight. In fact the whole
organ is tight, so what is my problem. Can anyone give me any
suggestions.

This is the most beautiful sounding 146A that I ever heard or even owned
and I want it to stay playing that way. It will put all other 146A's to
shame, I hate to say that for some people that I know own 146A organs
also, But this one has the sweetest sound you or anyone has ever heard,
or will ever hear.

Sincerely¶
Gordy
