I've heard so many stories about people chopping up player pianos with
and ax, ripping out the guts to them, letting their kids smash them up in
the barn 30 years ago, that it makes me sick!  It's like taking a good
'35 Ford Coupe with all the original parts and making it into a bad
hot-rod, and throwing away the original engine!

Art Reblitz said, "Don't bother restoring a player piano if the piano is
not good,"  but this is like saying, "Let that Model A Ford rust behind
the barn -- it don't run!"

I think it's a miracle if you find anything over 75 years old that is
still in good condition after years of abuse!  Let's face it, pianos
aren't going to stay in top condition forever, so why do we sometimes
judge them on that?

We are just now getting wiser, somewhat, about how valuable these things
are!  Why would we _ever_ throw one away -- we can't get a new one!  The
Story and Clark players they make now are only 74-note players, and made
of plastic!
