I'm trying something on a larger scale than in the past. I own and
operate Precision Player Pianos in Texarkana, USA (250 miles from Dallas/
Ft. Worth). Part of my business includes servicing and installing
PianoDisc systems; most of the rest is dedicated to the restoration of
pneumatic player pianos.

Just for kicks, I developed a way (I'm not the only one, I know) to
'transcribe' player piano roll music to a MIDI format, and then to the
format read by the Yamaha Disklavier (also read by the PianoDisc system).
This is only done with rolls that were made in and prior to the early
twenties; I do not transcribe new rolls. For the past few months I have
been giving this disk to my PianoDisc installation clients, and it has
been received well.

I'm working on a second disk (already completed, but still in the testing
phase) that I will probably sell for around $18. If there seems to be an
interest in this type of music, then I will continue producing more disks
from time to time.

The free, downloadable disk is located at

    http://members.aol.com/midiman128.

You will need a blank, IBM formatted double density 3.5" diskette, and an
unzipping program. (I plan to make the file self-extracting at a later
date). Those who are interested may wish to explore the site as there is
more on it than MIDI files. E-mail with any comments to:

    hgustaf101@aol.com.

Please do not send e-mail to the address in this header, as I do not
check it often. Thanks in advance for being part of my test audience and
please forgive the finicky aol server.
