Re: Switched-Off Keys
By Peter Neilson

Damon Atchison asks why one would want a keyboard lock.

Well, mine was removed by a previous owner, and I wish I had it! It's
not that I feel the flapping of the keys interferes with subtle playing
(that's why some folks use it).

Rather, I often do public performances, usually with a lot of little kids
hanging around. The piano seems attractive to children of all ages, and
toddlers like to come up and pound their fists on the keys while a roll
is playing. If the keyboard were locked, they would have to go do
something else annoying, like unfurling all my rolls.

Hmmm, maybe I'd better leave well enough alone.
