I recently purchased a Welte-Mignon for my wife who teaches piano.
It has been completely restrung with new hammers, sounding board and
converted into a very nice sounding standard piano.  When we first
looked at it, we were told that several piano manufacturers made these
instruments for Welte-Mignon, among them Steinway and American.  Is
there any way to tell where or who actually made this instrument?
The serial no. is: #66008.

It is very solidly build and measures 6'4", and, as I mentioned, has a
beautifully rich tone, even with new hammer felts.  I think it will be
an excellent instrument for Beethoven, though at this stage, takes a
great deal of ardour to get into the sound (with all that felt -- I
know they need to be voiced).  Also, could you give us some idea of
it's value?
