Mechanical Music Museums in the USA
By Philippe Rouillé

Paris, Feb. 3rd, 1997

According to my "policy" which is to put as much useful public
information as I can on my web site (just for the fun of it, and I hope
some people find it a good source of information), I have begun to put
the addresses of a few (13 for the moment) Mechanical Music museums in the
USA, thanks to the MBSI Directory (and with the agreement of the MBSI, of
course). Others will follow later on.

I haven't used the usual classification of state-by-state, but instead a
classification of four big regions which is clearer for non-American
readers: East Coast, Florida, Central, West Coast.

With the previous addresses of European and Japanese museums, I have
mentioned now the addresses or more than 110 museums or places where
you can find automatic musical instruments, in 16 different countries.

You may see these at the address of the web site Musica Mecanica :

    http://www.cnam.fr/museum/musica_mecanica/

You also have access to Musica Mecanica from the Home page of the Musee
des Arts et Metiers (be patient with Explorer 3 : it might take 20 or 30
seconds to see that page appear ; almost instantaneous with Netscape):

    http://www.cnam.fr/museum/

Then click on Musica Mecanica. Enjoy !
