Book by William Braid White
By Brian Chesters

I read with interest Craig Brougher's note about William Braid White's
book about piano repairing, and him never having fixed a piano in his
life.

I have a copy of the book 'The Player Pianist' by W. B. White: "A guide
to the appreciation and interpretation of music through the medium of the
Player-piano." It was printed in 1910 and runs to 150 pages. The last
nine pages are adverts for various player pianos, cloth and piano wire
manufacturers and other books on the subject.

I wonder if W.B.W. ever played a player piano or did he just have a good
imagination? I don't suppose it matters, as I have had the book in my
collection for twenty years and I have never read it!!
