To-night, I have considerably upgraded the information I give in my Web
Site Musica Mecanica, by adding some addresses and links (including the
new FOPS pages on the MMD Pages, and the new 'Buy-Sell and Exchange' Site
of Joyce Brite), but essentially by adding about 45 American museums or
attractions with mechanical music instruments, to the twelve I had put on
my pages end of January.

The whole MBSI listing of museums as it appears in the 1996 Directory for
the United States is now on this pages, minus one museum which is no more
opened to the public, and plus two museums which are not mentioned in
this Directory.  For a few museums, I added some very short comments in
English, French and German, but most of the comments are from the MBSI.

Of course, the MBSI is credited for these informations, and I express my
best thanks to Beatrice Robertson and Angelo Rulli for their cooperation,
to the specialist in HTML in the Musee des Arts et Metiers in Paris,
Olivier Delaroziere, and to Christine Beaujean for the German texts.
Everyone worked a few hours on this ...

A few things did not transfer correctly to-night to the web: that will be
corrected this week.  I am especially sorry about the web address of
Nancy Fratti, and the following paragraph, which will appear before the
listing of American museums :

  "USA, Vue d'ensemble/A general view/Ubersicht,
  In the USA, more than 50 museums opened to the general public
  present automatic musical instruments.  There are too many large
  private collections to visit them, please contact the American
  association MBSI.  (Source and description in English)  Many thanks
  to the MBSI (Active Link) for the information provided."

I made quite a lot of changes to the MBSI presentation, especially by
sorting the museums not by State, but geographically.  As many American
people do not know exactly where some European countries are - many
non-American people do not know exactly where such or such State is (no
names, please).

I preferred to establish four zones, where museums are sorted from North
to South and from East to West when possible.

 - East Coast
 - Florida
 - Central (from Chicago to Texas)
 - West Coast

That is now more than 150 museums throughout the world (Europe, Japan and
New Zealand included) that are mentioned on Musica Mecanica.  And I am
sure we can add a few more ...

I hope this information will prove useful especially when one wants to
