Berry-Wood Rolls
By Rob DeLand

I want to offer a quick update to my comments yesterday about Berry-Wood
15+ inch rolls. I spoke with a couple of friends last night about them,
and was told that someone did a recutting subscription of the rolls a few
years ago. They were done by the fellow in Wisconsin who has recut See-
burg A, G and H rolls for some private collectors in the Chicago area. I
may be visiting him later this week, and can ask for details if you wish.

There is a photo in the back of Harvey Roehl's 2nd edition of Player
Piano Treasury of a fellow (in Pennsylvania?) who had one of the large
Berry-Wood A.O.W. machines. My friend Jerry Biasella tells me that
is the only known original of that particular model; this is the same
machine that was shown in a full-page colorized picture in the front
pages of Harvey's book. I didn't realize this model was so rare!
