Seek Band Box Repair Info
By Bill Ryan

Does anyone know if Art Sanders is still running the Musical Museum in
Deansboro, NY (11 miles south of the thruway right west of Utica, NY).
He had a heck of a collection there. I am looking for a few things,
maybe someone could help me out on.

1. I would like the tuning cardboard sheet that a sane person could use
to tune the Mills Violano Virtuoso, both the single and double Mills.
Art had these for sale, but I lost mine in a house fire.

2. Someone on the list mentioned that they had notes on the complete
overhaul of the Band Box. These are notes this gentleman made when
restoring one of them himself, not the professional restorer that is also
mentioned in the list here. I had hoped they would be posted or sent on
private E-mail.

3. Does anyone know what mechanism is used on the 4/66+ Wurlitzer at the
Organ Stop Pizza in Mesa Arizona, for the dancing cats when the piece
"Alley Cats" is played. We would like to make one of those, without the
cats, and use five "sister or nun dolls", for the sets where we do the
music for "Nunsense" and "Nunsense II, The Second Coming". It would make
a heckuva comedy routine to have the dancing nun dolls (in 3/4 time) for
the numbers like "We Got To Clean Out The Freezer"... honest!

Looking forward to Violano tuning charts and Band Box. I do have a nice
8x11 glossy pictures of the Band Box from the Musical Museum. It is the
standard Band Box not the Lawrence Welk one. Thanks for all the help.
