Introduction
By Tim Ward

My name is Tim Ward. As a hobby and side business I have rebuilt player
pianos for the past 30 years. I am currently an installer for PianoDisc
through a music store in Antioch CA called Geddis Music. In 1993 I built
a Vorsetzer-type model of the Piano Disc system. I demonstrated it to
their engineers and sales staff but there was no interest in pursuing
production. I have now used this unit for over 1000 hours on more than
100 pianos with great success.

My current project is installing and converting to MIDI a Wicks pipe
organ in my house. When it's complete I'll be able to play my grand
piano, pipe organ, and sound modules, from the computer.

My interests include converting to MIDI additional acoustic instruments,
particularly a drum set. I am also interested in obtaining and sharing
MIDI files.

[ Welcome to MMD, Tim. Several folks have written recently expressing
[ interest in something like this! Could you please tell us more about
[ it? Could it be built from standard PianoDisc components? -- Robbie
