Sealing Pouches
By Craig Brougher

Phillip Dayson has a great idea, here, using some 734 Silicone Rubber
sealant on pouches. If they make the pouch even more flexible than the
silicone grease and tighter too, then how can we beat it? I'm all for
trying some if I can find it.

However, We should remember that the original rubber sealant Ampico used
also had about the same lifetime _in practice_ as the advertised 35 years
for this new stuff. Thirty-five years really isn't very long for a
pneumatic player piano. That's only one generation. I was kinda hoping
that my grandkids would leave my stuff to my great grandkids! I like to
see it play about as well for them as it does for me.

There is no lifetime limit to the grease. Also, Phil, you might try the
grease plus talcum powder after the grease has thoroughly soaked in and
the solvent evaporated. I believe it helps, too.
