Themodist Snakebites
By Damon Atchison

I was playing a Universal roll and I noticed a constant band of very tiny
double perforations on the right and left of the roll as it played. I
thought maybe that they were there for reproducing pianos to keep the
stress the same. Does anyone know of any reason for them?

[ Those are the "snake bites", Damon. Pianos fitted with the extra
[ pneumatic logic -- "Themodist" and "Solodant" actions -- would
[ accent the notes which are struck while the tiny holes are "on".
[ Until you acquire a piano like this you can make the accents
 [ with your feet. :) -- Robbie
