Dear John,  This piano sounds like a good candidate for a "Damp Chaser";
besides moth balls, cedar lining, etc.  The circumstances do not sound
healthy for a piano.  If I were in your situation, I'd be sure to spritz
a little insect repellent onto my shoes & ankles before going into this
home.  Imagine picking up larval eggs of these destructive insects and
taking them back...to your shop, your home, other customers homes, etc.

Could be another sequel to "Alien".   ;-)
