Mechanical Music in New York City
By Nancy Fratti

Be sure to visit Rita Ford Music Boxes, now owned by a very friendly guy
named Gerry Wright, 19 East 65th St. NYC, tel: 212-535-6717

They usually have a pretty good selection of antique as well as new
musical boxes. What you won't see there are pianos!!!!

Of course the Musical Box Society display at the Lockwood Mansion in
Norwalk CT should be on your list if you have a car to get around in: 295
West Ave. (just off I95); tel 203-838-1434 (the area code may have
changed). They're usually open Tues-Friday and on Sunday. I strongly
advise you to call first; sometimes they close on odd days.

The mansion is a wonderful place, in and of itself, but the MBSI exhibit
upstairs just adds to it! There are usually MBSI docents there on
Sundays. ENJOY!
