Well I am only a newcomer to restoring players, but as I write I have a
George Rogers pump-action with Otto Higel action behind me.  By coinci-
dence, a player I quoted on restoring last year also had an identical
Higel action.  Boy, did having two help in diagnosing problems!

Mine is a little sluggish and I think that the stack needs some atten-
tion, although the 5-speed wind motor is terrific.  I imagine that they
are therefore fairly common over here, but I have not seen one yet with
the metal valves.
