Data Base Manager for Multi-Media
By Gerry Bay

Glen Thomas recently mentioned his success with Microsoft Access
for his rolls database. This kind of database is excellent for those
applications that are alphanumeric in nature.

However, for those of you considering storing MIDI files and/or
pictures, you probably should be using an object-oriented database.
These are designed for "multi-media" type applications. They are also
perfectly suited for web applications.

The leader in the field is a company called Object Design, Inc. (ODI)
in Burlington, MA. (NASDAQ ODIS). You can download a free copy of the
basic ODI database called PSE at their website www.odi.com.

Hope this is helpful.
