Hammer Strike-point in Uprights

Hammer placement is approx. 1/8 in bass to 1/10 in treble of the
speaking length.  The treble is more critical than bass.  Place a
hammer on the last note and listen to the tone.  Move the action up and
down and decide on the 'sweet spot'.  Adjust hammer on shank for
corrections and recheck.  Do this for the other end of the section and
use a straight edge to fill in the rest.  Do this in the piano so
hammer/string alignment can be facilitated.
