Yes, indeed, the songwriter Tell Taylor was from Findlay, Ohio.  His
home still stands there, though I believe only the locals know which
house it is.  The river is the Blanchard, now quite muddy, but in its
day it was very pleasant.  Though Mr. Taylor wrote many songs, "Down By
The Old Mill Stream" is the one most remembered.

Having grown up in Findlay I had the chance in high school to spend
some time in the local museum archives.  At some time in the 50's a
Findlay man had searched through old local papers and rewrote most of
the articles pertaining to musically related subjects.  As I recall
reading, apparently there were 3 Wurlitzer organs in local theaters,
one also having some kind of orchestrion in the lobby which could be
controlled from the ticket booth.

There was also reported to have been a Wurlitzer band organ in the
skating rink at Riverside Park, and another in a Merry-Go-Round.
I often wonder what became of those instruments?
