Dutch Street Organ "de Duif"
By Babs Cannon

I had that recording -- I got it about 1961. Most of it (the sound)
was Carl Frei. My favorite number was "Music Maestro Please." Also,
a first recording of another street organ was made in 1957: it was
titled "Afternoon in Amsterdam." It was a Gavioli Draaiorgel. My
favorite number on that was " Blue Tango." Only two; I don't think any
others have existed for the general public. I haven't been able to find
any other recordings since 1961. It's a shame, too -- those
instruments are really great. They have a sound all their own.
