Phil, I don't quite know what to say; the bottom line is they're made
of paper and they can tear.  Older rolls made in the 20's can be kind of
fragile.  The rolls I sell are copies of original rolls and are a little
sturdier.

How old are the kids?  I'd gladly give you a few rolls and maybe some
other material that might interest them.  I'd also suggest you contact
Jody Kravitz (rolls@foxtail.com).  He manages an E-mail distribution
list for player piano collectors.  There are lots of other folks in the
hobby who would thrilled to hear that someone wants to teach kids about
mechanical music.
