Unknown A-Roll Tunes
By Jack M. Conway

Hi Group, I wonder if anyone could help me with missing "A" roll
information. I have an original roll with a roll-end pencil number of
1596. I recognize only tune 8 as "Mammy". I don't know who cut the roll.

On original Clark Roll number 1172, "Let Us Waltz (An All Waltz
Program)" with the bottom left corner of the label missing; tune 6
ends in "Of the Nile", tune 7 ends in "Know", tune 8 totally missing,
tune 9 ends in "Night", tune 10 totally missing.

On Play-Rite recut of Capitol A-2371 tune 5 is missing.

On an original roll A-1289: 1. Thinking of You, 2. Bolshevik, 3. Short
'N' Sweet, 4., 5., 6., 7., 8., all missing, 9. You'll Want Me Back,
10. Sunday.

One original roll has no information and the end of the roll is missing
(tune 9 and 10). Anyone willing to listen to a tape to help identify the
tunes.

On original roll A-1910 1., 2., missing, 3. The Pal That I Loved
Stole The Gal That I Loved, 4. How could Red Riding Hood, 5. Missing,
6. Alabamy Bound, 7., 8., 9., 10. missing. Hand written on the label
with no tune number is "Can't Nobody Love My Baby".

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Jack M. Conway, Los Angeles, California, USA

P.S. Is Ed Sprankle on the MMD?

[ I saw Ed last weekend. He's still not connected to the Web, so mail
[ him the cassette. He'll love the challenge. Don't forget Don Rand,
[ either -- it's hard to stump him with a song! -- Robbie
