Roll Artists and Recording Pianos
By Robert Perry

Hi everyone, Can any of you answer any of the following questions?

1. Who was 'Randolph' who recorded for the Gulbransen Music Roll Co.?

2. Was there ever a recording piano (i.e., a player that was used to
record rolls) that could be mistaken for a normal player piano without
close inspection?

3. Would re-editing QRS and other companies rolls, to add many extra
notes, and releasing them on your own company's label without credit,
be legal, and/or an effective way of getting around mechanical music
copyrights in the 1920s?

Regards,
Robert Perry
