Artista Piano Rolls
By Julian Dyer

I wonder whether anyone can provide a bit of information about Artista
music rolls? I've been loaned a collection of Italian popular songs
made in New York in the early 1920s, which have a fine selection of
labels from local music shops and publishers.

I've been working out who actually made these rolls: most are obvious,
being from Pianostyle or Connorized, companies which are pretty well
known. However, a few were made by 'Artista' - to go by the embossed
paper on the boxes and one or two roll tabs.

There's not a single mention of this company in Player Piano Treasury
or Ord-Hume's list or makers. For completeness I'd like to know a bit
more about it. I'd appreciate any information, even just an address.
