Edison Cylinder Phonograph
By Larry Toto

When I moved into my first house, which was owned by a retired TV
repairman, there were approximately 800 TVs and radios in the basement,
stacked floor-to-ceiling over 90% of the floor space. I had to arrange
that they be removed. (Don't be angry with me.) In that large heap, I
found an old portable Singer sewing machine in a hardwood case and an
Edison cylinder phonograph player.

The Edison player seems to have a broken mainspring, a broken drive
belt, and is missing the horn attachment. There are no recorded
cylinders. Is there much hope of making this thing whole again?

Thanks,
Larry Toto
