Good and Bad Music
By John Farrell

I would like to comment on Bruce Clark's theory that because the
majority of people have had little exposure to good music they are
musically illiterate.

In a musical context the words "good" and "bad" should be treated with
care. Of course there is no doubt that a piece of music may be played
in either a good or a bad fashion, but to brand the music itself as
good or bad is a subjective decision to be made by the listener.

"I like that" or "I don't like that" is a much better bet.
