Kastanome Music Rolls
By Walt Carroll

I have recently acquired about 16 rolls made by 'Kastanome' (sp?).

They look similar to Themodist rolls except the 'snakebites' are larger
and in the wrong place (i.e. they play the notes where the holes are).
I have not done a lot of research but I think they have something to do
with a piano that had four violins on top. Each hole on the roll
represented a note on one of the violins. I may be waaay off track
about this. I have never seen nor heard of such an instrument but have
no doubt that it may exist.

I was curious if anyone knew what these may be and if there was any
interest in them as I am too lazy to put tape over the tracker bar when
I want to play them (yes I have read the various techniques on this
topic). Other than that, they seem to play fine on my 88-note Aeolian
pumper.

Thanks
