Spanish Street Barrel Piano
By Bill Boulton

Hi everyone, Bill Boulton here with another strange request. Back
in Digest 980530, Christian Greinacher of Germany was trying to find
information on a barrel piano. Today I think I found one here in
Central New Hampshire. I would like to purchase this instrument but,
not knowing anything about it, I would appreciate any input from
anyone.

It is a small case about 4 feet wide and standing approx. 5 feet. It
has 60 strung notes with 5 bells in the bass end. It is hand cranked
and plays 10 tunes. It's serial number is 3521. The original front
of the case, which had cloth behind it, has been replaced. The case
has hand painted graining and on the left side are the barrel-shifting
controls and the original hand written tune list. The brass front ID
plate reads as follows:

  Centro Y Alquiler
 De Pianos Manubrios
   LUCAS GANTERA
   Rizarauela, 17
     Palencia

Inside a label reads:

          ORGANILLOS
       Camdios De Musica Y
         A fina ciones
          Reparaciones
        Antonio Apruzzese
 Carrera Des. Francisco 7 Madrid-5

And yes, it needs total restoration. Please let me know what it is,
what it's worth, and are they restorable.
