Hi Brian,   Max Kortlander is one of my personal favorites.  I consider
him a musical genius.

If you have ever heard any of our Tempola rolls, you can tell I have
been heavily influenced by Max's roll arranging style.  Max seemed to
love trills and a rather slow, drawn-out style.

The very best rolls, done under the name of "Baxter & Kortlander", were
the novelty rolls such as Ching Chong, which I have recut.  If you wish
I will send you a MIDI file of the roll scan.

Max had the ability to take a song that you would think would be
difficult, if not impossible, to make sound good on a player-piano.
This he did and done it very well.

I am glad you are doing something in memory of Max Kortlander.  I feel
he doesn't get the recognition he deserved.
