Ballpark Value of Silent Movie Rolls
By Rick Inzero

On the ebay WWW auction site, I noticed 22 piano rolls up for sale,
lot 29413686. They were Picturoll rolls intended to be used to
accompany silent movies. Now that bidding's closed, I see something
really weird... the bids made a quantum leap. 3 people bid under
$100 for the lot, then the top two each bid OVER $700!!! So these
rolls sold for roughly $33+ dollars per roll!

This is probably a rhetorical question, but is $30+ a typical value of
such movie music rolls or did each of these 2 people just really, really
want them for some reason?
